Lauren M. Clayton
Lauren Clayton received her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley (BA 2002), and a Masters Degree from the University of Georgia Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication (MA 2006). She earned her law degree from Georgia State University College of Law in 2012 (JD 2012). Ms. Clayton is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, the Supreme Court of Georgia, and the Georgia Court of Appeals.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Clayton was a Senior Assistant Solicitor for the City of Atlanta. While there she worked extensively in the area of zoning, housing, and environmental code enforcement. She developed strong relationships and fostered partnerships with key community stakeholders such as NPU leaders, community groups, corporate foundations, and code enforcement coalitions. Her work with nonprofit, neighborhood, and governmental groups resulted in real, continuing improvement in neighborhoods on the west side of Atlanta.
Ms. Clayton is extremely active in all types of community building in her neighborhood, including serving as fundraising chair for Drew Charter School PTA, as Girl Scout troop leader for Troop #16212, and a NPU-W representative.
Since joining Wilson Brock & Irby, Ms. Clayton has had successes on several projects including the redevelopment of the Gulch in downtown Atlanta, the Relocation of the Atlanta Community Food Bank Headquarters to East Point, Georgia and projects for Starbucks, Habitat for Humanity, and major residential developers.
