J. Parker Gilbert

Parker Gilbert’s practice concentrates on commercial real estate matters. Representing borrowers, lenders, landlords, tenants, and lien claimants, he has been involved in hundreds of closings of various types and complexity levels ranging from the acquisition and lease of raw land to the sale of multiple shopping centers to a national REIT for a purchase price in excess of $1.2 billion. Mr. Gilbert also has significant leasing experience having served as lead outside counsel for a national retail chain and several developer clients.
Mr. Gilbert received his undergraduate degree from the University of Richmond (B.A., 1991) and his law degree from Georgia State University (J.D., 1997) where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and was the Lead Articles Editor of the Law Review.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Gilbert practiced at a downtown Atlanta boutique law firm for over 20 years where he served as the administrative partner of the firm.
Mr. Gilbert has been active in several historical societies in Cobb County, Georgia, and is a board member and ex-chairman of Cobb Landmarks and Historical Society, Inc. He is a member of the Marietta Country Club and First Presbyterian Church in Marietta, Georgia, where he has served as a deacon and an elder. Parker and his wife, Melissa, have two daughters.
