John Irby's primary practice areas are commercial real estate transactions, corporate, commercial litigation and general business practice.
Mr. Irby received his undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia (B.A., 1985) and his law degree from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University (J.D., 1988). He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and admitted in the U. S. District Court, Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Georgia, and the U. S. Court of Appeals, 11th Circuit. He is currently: Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of the W. C. Bradley Company, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Georgia Lottery Corporation (by appointment of Governor Brian Kemp), on the Board of Directors of Synovus Bank and Trustee of the Georgia Historical Society Endowment Trust; he has previously served as: Chairman of the Georgia Department of Corrections Board (served by appointment of Governor Roy Barnes), Chairman of Darlington School Board of Trustees, Member of the Board of Stewarts of the Atlanta Steeple Chase and Member of the Advisory Board to Synovus Wealth Management and to the Bradley-Turner Foundation Boards; and he is and has been involved with other various charitable and civic organizations as well.
